We are offering a truly exceptional opportunity to be a part of a small team working on Parallels’ best selling product – Parallels Automation. Our systems need to meet remarkably high standards of quality, performance and reliability, operating around the clock on a massive scale. If you are a talented, detail, oriented and enthusiastic Quality Assurance / Test Manager who is passionate about quality and is enthusiastic about the new cutting edge technology offered to customers, then this is the right team for you.
Qualified candidates should be experienced with leading effective teams and recruiting for new teams. Candidates should also have an extensive knowledge of product development processes, test methodologies, tools development, and the quality requirements of software. In addition, a successful candidate will have effective written and oral communication skills; very good cross-organizational and project management skills; excellent technical knowledge including test design and development; and proficiency in either C# or Java. Familiarity with ASP.NET, IIS, Apache, Perl or general web development is highly desirable. Our SQA Engineers test code at the user level, both manually and with automated tools. Our SQA Engineers are not pure black box testers; they are more grey box, able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with Perl/Java scripts and/or user-level automated tools. The Team Leader will develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments and regression tests and driving the software development process towards quality-centric methodologies.
Requirements:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience;
• at least 7 years of development and test experience with the ability to plan, design, develop and test software;
• strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools;
• at least 3 years of experience as a people manager;
• ability to understand technical specifications and analyze problems;
• clear and effective communication skills;
• passion for quality and continuous improvement of processes and software;
• comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings;
• strong organizational skills, tracking multiple test executions simultaneously and be able to synthesize the results;
• experience in working on distributed systems preferred;
• shows creativity and initiative to improve product coverage and effectiveness;
• demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines, follow and define development standards, and to work independently;
• commitment to team work.
