Our client are behind some of Germanys most recognisable web based products and brands and have huge market share within their vertical. They have recently expanded their operations to include European based products and continue to revolutionise their industry.

As they expand their business theyre looking to bring in an experienced Solutions Architect with a proven track record of designing and specifying complex web applications within a Python / Linux ecosystem. Theyre looking for someone to help define the technical vision and help set the direction for their engineering function.

You should be an expert in Python and happy to dip into coding and advise in it as needed, but the mainstay of the role will find you researching, writing, communicating and experimenting with technologies rather than just pure development.

You should be very familiar with the Linux environment and have a basic grounding in the principles of computer hardware and networking, especially when it comes to building, maintenance and running of web applications.

You need to have a proven track of record of designing roadmaps and solutions for complex pieces of software, prototyping as necessary and documenting your work in order that teams of developers can implement them, and management types can understand how you plan to structure the systems you propose.

Essential skills and experience required;

• Comprehensive technical knowledge, analysis and design skills gained through the practical implementation of solutions, systems and processes within a complex software development environment.
• Comprehensive understanding of open-source stack web development (Linux, Apache, MySQL / PostgreSQL, Python) and the tools used to support them.
• Able to identify the best way to solve technical problems paying attention to limitations in software and hardware, and assess and select the technologies needed to support them.
• Strong communications skills to describe, educate and coach others in the implementation of your designs; and good powers of negotiation and persuasion to bring others onboard.
• Proven track record of being able to write down clear, detailed and structured proposals that explain the aims of a system, the choices available, and the implementation of designed components.
• Previous experience holding a mostly hands-off architectural role in a software development environment.

Desirable skills and experience;

• Exposure to PHP environments.
• Familiarity with message-queuing technologies.
• Good understanding of Postgres as a technology.
