Key tasks and deliverables for the role will include, but not be limited to:
- On-going assessment of outsource / offshore (and on-shore) opportunities for European resources, partnering with programme managers and development heads to deliver appropriate solutions;
- Grow the Moscow based team to meet demand. This includes getting the appropriate balance between outsource versus in house staff and interviewing / selecting staff;
- Design and implementation of common outsource / offshoring practices, models and standards, SLA’s and KPI’s;
- Management of off and on-shore resources (both permanent and outsource), ensuring quality deliverables, appropriately skilled staff, high levels of retention and proactive performance management;
- Vendor relationship management with our Eastern European suppliers;
- Escalation point and liaison for high impact and front to back issues related to the service;
- Lead a team.
Requirements:
The Head of Development IT reports to the Moscow Head of IT.
The role requires an individual with an excellent level of communication and project
management skills, natural leadership abilities and experience in offshoring, preferably in
Eastern Europe. Will also need a good technical background, preferably in development
management, to effectively manage the team and provide technical guidance.
Travel between London and Russian will be regular.
As an “agent of change”, the successful individual will need to make significant in-roads in this area, but will need to manage the risks of this and demonstrate the benefits and rewards to both the business and IT line management / partners.
