A well-known American company New York Magazine has a new opening of Perl developer to work at it’s office in the USA

Description:

This individual will be a member of the team responsible for editorial facing technology development for New York Magazine’s external web site ([url]http://www.nymag.com)[/url]. The first project will likely be to refactor an existing PHP application into mod Perl, so having some PHP experience would be useful (but that's the only time we're going to do PHP here -- everything else will be Perl, JavaScript, etc.).

Responsibilities:

Specifically, the engineer will be developing and extending internal content management systems, with responsibilities ranging from working with business leaders to define requirements, to managing the launch process and many tasks in between.

Requirements:

- Object-oriented Perl
- Expert-level proficiency developing mod_perl compliant applications, with extensive experience porting CGI applications to mod_perl preferred.
- Object-oriented JavaScript
- Fluent English

As a plus:

- Working knowledge with CGI::Application, Catalyst or other MVC Perl development framework
- Active working knowledge of AJAX
- Experience with PHP or Python a strong plus
- Experience working with Movable Type blogging system a plus.
- Expert knowledge of XML, XSLT, SOAP, CSS, DHTML, and XHTML
